The Event Barn

With humble beginnings as a pole barn for tractors, equipment, feed, and all the accouterments of farm life, the Event Barn is 7,680 square feet of enclosed space with a commercial kitchen, eight individually enclosed private restrooms including two which are fully ADA/handicap accessible (one with changing table), one child-scaled restroom, and three other unique restrooms featuring antique vanities, tables and plenty of room. The restroom area also features two shower/restroom combinations. Concrete flooring allows uninterrupted access and steady mobility to every part of the barn. An upstairs apartment with a full bathroom can be reached from steps just outside the barn and provides a view of almost the entire farm from its balcony. There is a large, two-cars’ width covered portico entrance so guests can arrive and depart comfortably in any weather. The portico’s rustic cedar supports and timbers were harvested from our land and saw at a mill minutes from the farm. Classic barn doors, 10 feet tall, welcome guests. The large parking area provides adequate space for all vehicles and a six-passenger party cart can ferry guests to and from the barn. The building features exceptional lighting fixtures and ceiling fans along with bistro lights strung through the middle of the 22-feet tall center portion. A buffet-style serving area sits above in-floor electrical outlets, lit by an antique ladder from the farming days. Beautiful rustic chafing dishes, handcrafted from centuries-old heart pine, keep everything hot or cold, and separate spots for drinks, appetizers, desserts, wedding cakes, etc., allow an even flow to prevent crowding in any area.

In inclement weather, the staff at Tobesofkee Farm can arrange a chapel-style setting inside the lofty center portion of The Barn if necessary and convert it quickly after the ceremony for dining and dancing. The west side of the barn features a rustic indoor/outdoor fireplace, made of rocks from the farm, and faces an open field, creating incredible photo opportunities as the sun sets.
